The MOMEM is not a museum. Not a museum in the classical sense.

We would never have expected what has happened since the opening: The exhibition has become a real meeting place - for all those who were there back then, as well as for a new generation who are now discovering the OMEN for themselves.
Many of you have told us what significance this place has had for your lives. Memories, emotions and stories from Frankfurt and all over the world reach us every day.<\/p>

This response is also clearly evident online: over 250,000 views on the exhibition posts and a reach of well over 500,000 on OMEN Content speak for themselves.<\/p>

For all those who want to delve deeper: You can find our panel talks and DJ casts with original protagonists from the OMEN environment on our\u00a0YouTube channel<\/a>.<\/p>

There, the stories behind the music come to life - personally, directly and up close.<\/p>

And it's not just in the museum that OMEN lives on: with the OMEN Club Nights, we're bringing the spirit back to the floor. On 19 November 2025, we will open the multimedia exhibition \"OMEN - New Electronic Ecstasy\" at MOMEM Frankfurt.<\/div>

Over 100 photos, films, flyers and original artefacts bring the wild nights back to life. In interviews, DJs, employees and companions talk about the significance of the club.<\/div>
This is complemented by all flyers, communication graphics and special objects relating to the legendary OMEN.<\/div>

We need you to make this possible: Funding is needed for research, interviews, text editing, graphics as well as set-up and dismantling.<\/div>

Just like our MOMEM opening 4 years ago, on 6 April 2022 at Frankfurt's Hauptwache - a \u201eFree for All\u201c event with Sven V\u00e4th on the decks and 10,000 ravers who were finally able to celebrate together again after two years of lockdown.<\/p>

Or our \u201e100 years of Frankfurt Airport\u201c event series in summer 2024 on the visitor terrace of Terminal 2.<\/p>

And here comes the next one-off special:<\/p>

When the doors to a new chapter of international mobility open at Frankfurt Airport in April 2026, the right soundtrack is a must: Our long-standing partner Fraport is opening the new Terminal 3 - and has invited us to transform one of the most spectacular areas into a vibrant MOMEM Club Area.<\/p>

Under the motto \u201eREADY FOR TAKE OFF\u201c we celebrate a musical boarding between the past, present and future of electronic music.\u00a0
For two days, Terminal 3 becomes a dance floor, a meeting place and a tribute to Frankfurt's unique club culture.<\/p>

Together with influential DJs from the legendary Dorian Gray and our MOMEM residents and friends, we are building a bridge from the iconic airport club era to the present day at MOMEM, right in the place where music history was once made.<\/p>

For the first time, the MOMEM - Museum of Modern Electronic Music in Frankfurt will be hosting an electronic music festival from 06.02.26 to 07.02.26
the FEMC - A FLINTA* Electronic Music Conference will take place.<\/p>

Hamburg-based photographer, DJ and curator Katja Ruge is bringing her interdisciplinary approach to Frankfurt for two days of workshops, panels, dialogue and music. A pulsating FLINTA* space in which art, community and electronic sound culture merge and new impulses emerge.<\/p>

MUSIC IS COMMUNITY<\/b> - MUSIC IS MEDICINE<\/b><\/h4>

Workshops are held during the day (\u20ac28 per workshop, for FLINTA* participants only).
In the evening, the content will be brought together in freely accessible panels and a dramaturgical arc will be drawn from the day into a joint discussion and subsequent DJ sets by FLINTA* DJs.<\/p>

Tangerine Dream are one of the most influential German bands and left their mark on electronic music, especially ambient and trance. From 7 April 2025, the MOMEM is dedicating an exhibition to the band<\/p>

Tangerine Dream: Time lapse\u00a0<\/b><\/p>

which sheds light on their 58-year history. Founded in 1967 in West Berlin, the band remained active even after the death of its founder Edgar Froese in 2015.\u00a0<\/p>

Tangerine Dream released over 160 albums, from Electronic Meditation (1970) to Raum and Sessions with the current line-up. Virgin Records signed them in 1973. Phaedra was their first purely electronic album and marked the beginning of a productive phase with works such as Rubycon and Force Majeure.\u00a0<\/p>

They also composed film music, including for Tatort. The exhibition shows documents, photos, original instruments and rare recordings. It is based on a presentation at the Barbican Centre in London (2020) and has been expanded for the MOMEM.\u00a0<\/p>

A supporting programme with readings, lectures and films is planned.<\/p>

Frankfurt celebrates 30 years of NATURE ONE - with a unique journey through time at MOMEM<\/strong><\/p>

The MOMEM - Museum of Modern Electronic Music - presents from the\u00a029 July to 17. <\/strong>August 2025 <\/strong>the multimedia exhibition \"NATURE ONE - 30 years of rave history<\/strong>\".<\/p>

To mark the 30th anniversary of the legendary open-air festival\u00a0NATURE ONE<\/strong>\u00a0the festival takes over the MOMEM for a short time: In an exclusive\u00a0Takeover\u00a0<\/strong>the current exhibition Milestones. Favorite Club Tracks reinterpreted - supplemented by highlights from three decades of festival history.
More than 100 exhibits - including rare photos, videos and posters - provide an immersive journey through the evolution of electronic music culture.<\/p>

Since 1995, NATURE ONE has attracted tens of thousands of ravers every year to the site of the former Pydna missile base in the Hunsr\u00fcck region - a place that has become a symbol of freedom, music and community. Today, NATURE ONE is one of the\u00a0oldest and <\/strong>most influential open-air raves worldwide.<\/strong><\/p>

Not only visual impressions are shown in the MOMEM: The\u00a0legendary NATURE ONE <\/strong>Hymns<\/strong>\u00a0sound - memories and milestones in the history of the festival.\u00a0

From 8 to 20 July 2025, the MOMEM - Museum of Modern Electronic Music - will be showing the multimedia exhibition \"Keep the Vibe Alive - A Visual Story of Love Family Park<\/strong>\".\u00a0<\/p>

The show honours one of the most traditional open-air festivals in the electronic music scene and invites visitors on a unique journey through almost 30 years of festival history.<\/p>

Since its premiere in 1996, the Love Family Park<\/strong> has become a fixed ritual in the summer calendar for many music fans far beyond the region. The festival has been taking place in Frankfurt am Main since 2022 - an occasion that MOMEM is celebrating together with the organiser Cosmopop<\/strong> celebrates.<\/p>

Shown are over 100 photographs and video sequences<\/strong> from the Cosmopop archives and from contemporary witnesses. The exhibition documents the eventful history of the festival - from its beginnings in Hanau to stops in Mainz and R\u00fcsselsheim and its arrival in Frankfurt. In addition to the geographical journey, the focus is also on the artistic development.<\/p>

A special focus is placed on the \"constant\" of the festival: the Frankfurt <\/strong>World DJ<\/strong>which has been an integral part of the line-up since the first edition in 1996.<\/p>

What began on 12 July in Berlin at Rave The Planet is now reaching Frankfurt with full force:
13 young DJs from 5 continents set a historic example with their own float - in favour of electronic music as a cultural asset, against dance bans and, above all, for peace,<\/p>

Equal rights and the rights of kids in club and festival culture.
Now this movement is coming to MOMEM - the centrepiece of electronic music history.<\/p>

On Sunday 20 July, the Museum of Modern Electronic Music will present six exceptional international talents aged between 10 and 15.
Instead, the symbolic 5 euro entrance fee goes entirely to MOMEM as a sign of their appreciation and support.<\/p>

Anyone who sees these kids live now will be able to say in a few years' time: \"I was there when it all began.\"<\/p>

Line-up - global, diverse, uncompromisingly electronic:<\/p>

EIJI (Japan)<\/strong> - The techno tinkerer from Tokyo: young, precise, fascinating.
Jules (New York City, USA)<\/strong> - Brooklyn's finest with an urban rave vibe.
PULSAR (UK)<\/strong> - The high-flyer from Great Britain who is already blowing up mainstages.
Lynn L. (Belgium)<\/strong> - Female power with hard techno energy: raw, honest, direct.
Julia (Dubai)<\/strong> - Melodic techno meets desert fire - hypnotic and unique.
Lucca (Netherlands)<\/strong> - Europe's answer to Gen Z techno: radical, creative, genuine.<\/p>

These young artists are part of a 14-day tour through Germany, Belgium and Switzerland before heading to the world's first NextGen Festival in the Netherlands - a festival played exclusively by DJs under the age of 16.
The name says it all: this is where the elite of the next generation of electronic music is formed.<\/p>

On Wednesday 02.07.25 the plaza in front of the MOMEM will be played for the second time in cooperation with the F.I.M. (Forum Improvisierter Musik, Frankfurt).\u00a0

As part of the F.I.M. spatial performance with the theme \"underground\", 11 musicians will come together on the plaza in front of the MOMEM for a joint final improvisation after performing at various underground stations in the city centre.\u00a0

In interaction with DJ Matthias Vogt and three dancers, the musicians will explore the tension between improvised and electronic sounds.\u00a0<\/p>

Visiting the MOMEM Plaza is free of charge.

From 23 June to 4 July 2025, the Museum of Modern Electronic Music, supported by the City of Frankfurt am Main and the Stiftung Polytechnische Gesellschaft Frankfurt am Main, invites you to the Electronic Music School Weeks. The MOMEM will also open exceptionally on Monday 23 June and Monday 30 June, extending its regular opening hours to 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. every day.

In the Electronic Classroom, the only one of its kind in the world, pupils can gain their first experience as music producers in small groups. The Electronic Classroom sees itself as the easiest and most intuitive approach to electronic music that can be experienced together in groups.
A total of 5 so-called dawless setups - a digital working station (DAW) in the form of a computer is not used - are available to 5 students each. Each of the setups includes a mixer \"the t.mix mix 802\" from thomann, two synthesisers, a sampler and a drum machine. The devices are connected via MIDI and audio cables from thomann and adam hall.

Fela Kuti from Lagos is known to be one of the inventors of the Afrobeat and established the idea of repetitive dance music. Earl Young was the drummer of the most epic Philadelphia Sound recordings. As one of the first artists mentioned he had the idea of the \"four to the floor\" beat kicking it in with his bass drum. Years later club DJs like Ron Hardy and Frankie Knuckles came up with the idea of a new dance music called House merging disco, wave and early electronic music creating mix friendly club tunes.
