Along the so-called "death strip" that strictly separated the Berlin border between East and West for almost 30 years, young East and West Germans celebrated illegal parties, squatted houses and turned them into clubs after the fall of the Wall in November 1989.
The documentary "Party auf dem Todesstreifen - Soundtrack der Wende" tells the story of the emergence of the new youth culture in reunified Germany. The film is based on the interview book "Der Klang der Familie: Berlin, Techno und die Wende" (2012) by Felix Denk and Sven von Thülen.
