MARCH 8 - BEATS AND PERSPECTIVES
A day for FLINTA*, club culture & community
Admission from 1 - 5 pm only for Flinta*
Free admission
On the feminist day of struggle - also International Women's Day we are setting an example:
For more visibility, for diverse club culture and for real safer spaces.
Together with MOMEM Frankfurt, the players from clubcherry and Music Women* Hessen have created a day-long programme that combines exchange, education and music - by FLINTA* for FLINTA* - and all this at the place in Frankfurt that makes electronic music visible in our city and beyond: MOMEM Frankfurt right in the heart of our city.
13:00 - 17:00 | FREE ADMISSION TO MOMEM - FLINTA* ONLY
Before our programme items, the MOMEM opens its doors and invites all FLINTA* people to discover the museum free of charge. A perfect opportunity to immerse yourself in the history and future of electronic music before we set off together.
15:00 - 17:00 | DJ WORKSHOP - FLINTA* ONLY
Learn, try out, connect - Jenne (Music Women* Hessen) and Nikesch (clubcherry) provide a practical insight into the art of DJing. A space to experiment, without pressure, but with lots of support from the community.
18:00 - 20:00 | PANEL TALK: "Between beats and construction sites - perspectives for clubs, Communities and Safer Spaces" - OPEN FOR EVERYONE
Club culture is in a state of flux - rising rents, restrictive regulations and a changing party culture are threatening many spaces that are essential for FLINTA* communities.
Together with players in the scene, we will discuss what structures are needed to maintain clubs as places of diversity, what challenges FLINTA* artists face and what future prospects there are for safer spaces. Under the moderation of Berlin journalist and DJ Gesine Kühne, Gwen Iffland (marketing manager at a leading German concert agency and active volunteer at clubcherry and in the newly founded Night Council of the City of Frankfurt), Katharsia (bar owner, DJ and educator from Mainz, who creates spaces for artistic and hedonistic encounters), Lilav (member of the collective "Crémant. Cava. Booty Bounce." collective, which campaigns for the representation of BI*PoC FLINTA* in clubs, art and culture) and Sinam Hüls (booker of Tresor.West in Dortmund, who attracted attention with the #savetheunderground campaign) share their perspectives on this topic.
From 23:00 | CLUBNACHT @ SILBERGOLD - ALL FLINTA* LINE-UP - OPEN FOR EVERYONE
After knowledge transfer and exchange, it's time to hit the dancefloor! With a housy all FLINTA*
line-up we celebrate the diversity of the electronic music scene and create a night for everyone together with DJ Zurückbleiben Bitte, Luzie and Mischeel Amar.
Whether you want to learn something new, network or simply dance - 8 March is your day.
Come along, take the space and become part of the movement.
The event is sponsored by the Cultural Office of the City of Frankfurt am Main.
