Sandra Mann's photographic work is characterised by a subtle eye for detail. She presents the special features of the music scene and nightlife of the 1990s and 2000s on fluttering silk taffeta in a photo installation. By juxtaposing the individual photographs, the artist establishes relationships between motifs, colours and content and creates sometimes unexpected and sometimes humorous correspondences. What exactly is hidden behind the photographed motifs on themes such as music, fashion, interpersonal relationships, gender constructions and consumption is often only revealed to the viewer at second glance. In a dialogue with art collector Detlef Holz, Sandra Mann talks about her time in the metropolises of New York, London, Vienna and Berlin and her development as an artist.
