Electronic Music – The British-German Connection

We warmly welcome you to another MOMEM event dedicated to the history of electronic music in Britain, featuring Matthew Collin, acclaimed author of “Altered State: The Story of Ecstasy Culture and Acid House” and “Rave On: Global Adventures in Electronic Dance Music.”

Matthew Collin’s new book, “Dream Machines”, delves into the pioneering early decades of electronic music in the UK, covering a range of genres from the BBC Radiophonic Workshop, space rock, electro-pop, industrial music, dub, hip-hop, to acid house.

This event celebrates the book’s release by examining the historic connections between British and German electronic music, exploring how influences were exchanged and cultures interacted to create groundbreaking new sonic forms.
