This workshop is about the question of what it really takes to produce music - beyond expensive equipment. We'll look at mindset, motivation and self-organisation, talk about blockades in the studio and which creative and technical tools help when you're stuck.
Topics such as workflow hacks (e.g. the 10-minute rule), dealing with comparison and self-doubt, finding your own sound through inspiration from everyday life and experiments as well as concrete strategies on how to really finish tracks are at the centre. In addition, the focus will be on mental health in the creative process, time management, community instead of competition and how collaborations can release new energy.
The workshop is aimed at both beginners and advanced students who want to bring more ease, focus and joy to their production.

DJ MELL G is one of the most influential new voices in electronic music.
The Hamburg DJ and producer combines electro, breaks, techno and EBM to create an uncompromising, precise sound, raw, direct and full of energy.
After cancelling her law studies in 2020, she devoted herself entirely to music and runs her vinyl label JUICY GANG RECORDS. Since then she has played all over the world, including at Tresor, FOLD, Razzmatazz, Phonox and at major festivals such as Dekmantel. Her debut album ISSUES was released in 2023, received great media coverage and emphasises their honest, personal approach, with a strong DIY attitude and signature sound.
Collaborations with Boys Noize Records and remixes for Tiga, among others, demonstrate her versatility and tech know-how.
