The MOMEM is dedicating an exclusive exhibition to the legendary OMEN Club for the first time.
Between 1988-1998, electronic music history was written in Frankfurt's Junghofstraße.

Founded by Sven Väth, Matthias Martinsohn & Michael MünzingOMEN was one of the first clubs in the world to place electronic music uncompromisingly at the centre of its programme, driven by Sven Väth. A new sound was created here that made Frankfurt the epicentre of a global movement.

The opening in 1988 came at a time of new beginnings - a few months later, the Berlin Wall came down. A new freedom also emerged in the club: the DJ became an artist, the club a place of identity and ecstasy. Between the fog, heat and dripping ceiling, music, body and energy merged into an unprecedented feeling.

The exhibition shows, among other things:
Over 100 photos of Ernst Stratmann & Sascha Luondrare film footage of Pit Weber, original equipment (Thorens turntable, Rodec mixer and much more), iconic club illustrations by Stellmacher & Jensen Contemporary witnesses such as Frank Lorber, Dag Lerner, Karlheinz Sondergeld and others tell their stories.

Curated by Sascha Luond, Ingo Boss, Dr Torben Giese & Alex Azary.

The OMEN was more than just a club. It was a place of renewal - a symbol of new beginnings whose energy can still be felt today in music, fashion and culture.
