Private: ARTIST TALK – Mit Sean Linn (Detroit/ art is the place) – FR, 03.11.2023
Ticket type:
Sean Linn comes from Detroit and is a graduate of SAIC (School of the Arts Institute of Chicago) and studied mainly print media, but also painting, illustration and animation.
His passion for printmaking stems from his contact with artists such as Hokusai and José Guadalupe Posada. Historically, printmaking was the first form of mass media and propaganda.
In his own work he explores themes of identity, race, heritage, spirituality and politics and sees his work as propaganda in its own right. He has collaborated with Jay Daniel and worked on the visual design of his music label Watusi High, doing album covers and design work.
Through personal exploration and retrospection, his art can hopefully benefit others and edify himself.
Arastu Salehi from art is the place Berlin and curator of the current exhibition "The Birth of Techno - From Detroit to Berlin" will be talking to Sean Linn.
